The Fireside journal
Three roads home
Every one leads to the same fire. Which way is you?
The walkable version of this needs a strong desktop. So here are the same three roads, written down. Pick one, or read them all.
01
The Road
For the rider. Fast, warm, a little reckless.
THE OPEN ROAD
Every story worth telling started with an engine and a long stretch of open road.
THE BURN
Some fires you build with strangers. By morning, they're family.
HOME
You made it. Sit down. The road always brings you back.
The whole point of the machine is the campfire.
02
The Mountain
For the fighter. Cold, quiet, every step earned.
THE COLD ONE
The hard ones are worth the most. You have to earn the view.
THE LONG GRIND
I dragged myself over that line at the 70.3. Still the best pain I know.
THE SUMMIT
You made it. Sit down. The cold is what makes the fire mean something.
The whole point of the machine is the campfire.
03
The Grove
For the human. Warm, alive, full of faces.
THE SONG
This is the part the machine can't do for me. So I put the phone down and pick up the guitar.
THE FACES
These faces are the whole reason I ever learned to move fast.
HOME
You made it. Sit down. This was always the point.
The whole point of the machine is the campfire.
